This course will cover some of the fundamentals of medical
interpreting to equip bilingual individuals and interpreters to
interpret in areas of healthcare and work with healthcare
professionals. Using national standards of practice for medical
interpreting, this course will briefly introduce the U.S. health
care system, present useful medical and anatomical
terminology often used in medical interpreting, and discuss
ethical issues and dilemmas that are faced while on the job.
